So many times I catch myself wishing I was three years old and able to get away with that three year old behavior!!! I want to say “it’s mine” or “give it to me”…and snatch something from someone. Or just even say “I don’t like you”…and almost get away with it. Haha! Growing up is so hard. Maybe I can look forward to saying these things again when I’m over ninety??? How can we deal with this constant fight with selfishness? Is there actually a method? Is there a formula? I think I’m still looking for the easy way.

For those of you who believe in Jesus, you know that many times the behavior that we fight comes from His biggest enemy…and the whispers and lies that we listen to on a constant basis are a way of his just wearing us down. He wants to see us tired. When we are tired and not thinking clearly he has the greatest victory. We can’t be effective as witnesses for Christ. We think and behave out of our instinct instead of our faith. People at work and school see us an example of Jesus…if they even know of our faith…and we aren’t doing a very good job. We are rude to people in the stores, and to other people we come into contact with. We ignore the needs of friends and others. We complain about everything!!!!

How can we turn “it’s mine” into “take it, I want you to have it”? I want you to have the item, fame, fortune, success….and how can I help you get there? What can I do to support you? When we start to look to what can we do for others…it becomes less about us. Life becomes lighter as we invest in relationships, rest and meditation. We become part of a solution instead of a conflict. Rejoicing in others success will bring you so much happiness. Pay your blessings forward to others. And be grateful for every day that you have…so that you can shine as a witness of God’s love.
