Are you living the life you imagined you would? When you were younger and your ideas of life were new, I’m sure they was a glimmer in your imagination about how it would all go. You could see a life of vivid color and amazing adventure. The people were full of love and there was no pain. And this was a time when you could still see a career that fulfilled all your financial needs. Is this how it turned out? Does it bring you down or give you hope for a better future? Have you given up?
There are days when I give up! Nothing goes well. My life has no meaning on those days. Usually I just go to bed early, hoping for a better day the next day. Sometimes I have to go to bed early for more than a few days in a row. My imagination is dead. I have no hope. What are we without our imagination? We are without hope.
Do you know that God has imagined a life for you? One that is full of life and meaning? Purpose! Have you ever caught a glimpse of what it could be? Have you ever asked Him to show you? To fill your imagination with what He has waiting for you? I don’t think that any of us can truly understand what He wants for us. Our imagination is too limited. Too scared. I want to see it. I want to live it. I have started asking God to show me what He has in my future…and when I can see a tiny bit, I get scared. It’s too big, not for me…how can it be? How can it happen? And am I willing to pursue that path no matter what, knowing that is what He has imagined my life to be? That is where many of us get caught. Know there is something out there for us. Something big. A life of passion and laughter! Full of adventure. We get stopped in the mundane existence of everyday life. We settle for “normal”, and how can this be good when our Creator is anything but normal? He hasn’t created us to be normal. But extraordinary!!!! Ask Him to give you back your imagination! Fight for a life that is extraordinary! Pursue Him with all of your being! Start to imagine with Him!!! Don’t be afraid of what you see. (However, if you can only see dark and frightening things, it is time to work first on your heart and soul. They need to be restored. They need healing. And only He can do it for you. He has a plan for everyone. Even you.)
Imagine what life on earth would be like if everyone lived a life of purpose and fulfillment. It would change the face of society as we know it. No more reality shows that degrade human beings. Bullying and violence would be stopped. I know it sounds like utopia…but I believe that this is how God imagined life. After all, He is the one who created us…all of us different. It takes individuals choosing to follow that path that is meant for them. Pursuing a life full of imagination!! Just ask!
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
